Throwback Thursday – Finding Claire Fletcher by Lisa Regan

throwbackthursday

Throwback Thursday is a meme created by Renee at It’s Book Talk to share old favorite books rather than just the new shiny ones. This is a great idea to bring back to life some much-loved books. Please feel free to join in.

My choice for this week is:

Finding Claire Fletcher (Claire Fletcher #1) by Lisa Regan

Goodreads Description:

In the first book in bestselling author Lisa Regan’s new series, a one-night stand sets a detective on the trail of a terrifying unsolved crime.

With his career on thin ice and fresh ink on his divorce papers, Sacramento PD Detective Connor Parks goes searching for solace at the bottom of a bottle…and winds up in the arms of a beautiful woman. By morning she’s gone, and the one clue she left behind sends Connor on a desperate mission to unravel a decade-old mystery—her abduction.

Presumed dead for the last ten years, Claire Fletcher has been living her life as “Lynn,” a woman in the terrifying grip of her captor. After her unforgettable night with Connor, Claire clings to the hope that she’ll see him again, that he’ll follow her into the dark. But anyone who gets close to Claire has a way of turning up dead…and she’s unwittingly made Connor next on the list.

Before long, it becomes disturbingly clear: finding Claire Fletcher isn’t just going to be dangerous—it could be deadly.

MY THOUGHTS:

I read this novel a few years ago and really enjoyed it. It was actually just re-released last month.  “Losing Leah Holloway” is the second book in the “Claire Fletcher” series, and will be released in October.

“Finding Claire Fletcher” was a fantastic read that I read in just a few sittings. The story was thrilling, emotional, and at times, very dark.

Detective Conner’s and Claire’s alternating points of view were well-written and easy to follow. I occasionally had to take a breather, as the subject matter could be difficult to read, but there was no way I was putting this book down for long. Claire’s story is not one that readers will soon forget.

Lisa Regan has written an excellent, thought-provoking psychological suspense novel.  I can’t wait to read more!
