Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by The Purple Booker.
It is very easy to play along:
• Grab your current read and open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS!
• Share the title & author, too, so that other participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Here are my “teasers” :
“Flashes, she saw flashes through the door that was wedged open a few inches by the man’s legs. Blasts and blasts, screams. And people, shadows and silhouettes, falling, running, falling.
And the figure, dark in the dark, walking methodically up the rows.”
From the novel:
Shelter in Place by Nora Roberts
Expected publication: May 29th 2018 by St. Martin’s Press
Goodreads Description:
Sometimes, there is nowhere safe to hide.
The chaos and carnage lasted only eight minutes before the killers were taken down. But for those who lived through it, the effects would last forever. In the years that followed, one would dedicate himself to a law enforcement career. Another would close herself off, trying to bury the memory of huddling in a ladies’ room, hopelessly clutching her cell phone–until she finally found a way to pour her emotions into her art.
But one person wasn’t satisfied with the shockingly high death toll at the DownEast Mall. And as the survivors slowly heal, find shelter, and rebuild, they will discover that another conspirator is lying in wait–and this time, there might be nowhere safe to hide.
My Thoughts:
I started reading Nora Roberts books in my late teens and have enjoyed many of them over the years. However, it has been quite some time since I picked one up. But when I came across “Shelter in Place”, I immediately knew it was one I had to read. I just started reading it yesterday and though I only meant to read a few pages, I’m having trouble putting it down.
Pulled in right from the chilling start, I am on edge and can’t wait to read what happens next.
I haven’t read her in years. Maybe I will give this one a try. Thanks for posting your nicely done review.

Isn’t it great when a book pulls you in right away? When that happens to me, all I can think about during my day is being able to get back to my book. Your teaser sentences pulled me in too!

Can’t wait for this! I can’t remember if I’ve asked this already, but do you read her In Death books she writes under JD Robb?

I haven’t actually read any of her JD Robb series. I’ve heard good things about it. I read books from some of her other series over the years so I can’t remember the names. However, I did enjoy them. Have you read very many of her books?

Teaser lines and review. I do enjoy her suspense books better than the romance ones. Great introduction to this book.

I’m not sure if I could handle this one. I’d like to know how it turns out though. I’ll wait for you to tell us. 😉
I read my first Nora Roberts book about a year or so ago and really enjoyed her writing. I need to read more of hers especially since I have a few of her books on my bookshelf.
